Last Sunday I did my monthly radio show on 1BrightonFM. I was lucky enough to be joined in the studio by Ray Gange. For those of you that don’t know him, he was chosen to play the part of a ‘roadie’ in the 1980 film ‘Rude Boy’ featuring The Clash.
The film, part fiction, part rockumentary, tells the story of Ray Gange, a Clash fan who leaves his job in a Soho sex shop to become a roadie for the band
There is more to this man than meets the eye, nowthere is another chance to hear this show and a look into the life of someone who has lived life on the edge.
Vince Taylor and the Playboys – Brand New Cadillac
Remembering a time during the school holidays when the would show all these strange European TV shows. Belle and Sebastian, Robinson Crusoe, Bagpuss to name a few.
Was it me or was the strange East German fairy tale really that weird?
Ding dong!

The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band – If You Want This Love
Been thinking about this as a theme for a while now, but proved to be a bit challenging as I was struggling to find stuff I liked with girls that exemplified a real ‘Punk Rock’ attitude. I know that I will get bombarded with, “why didn’t you use……….?” Well, go on then. We have used the only 2 Slits songs I like in previous shows and is Patti Smith Punk? Hhmmmm!
So, what’s here is not strictly punk or all girls for that matter. What drew me to these tunes was attitude, buzzsaw guitars and girls doing it for themselves, no compromise.
